About E2594LT-1 DUPLEX WIRE

E2594 is a classification for a super-duplex stainless steel electrode (AWS A5.4), used in welding to provide high strength and superior resistance to pitting and stress corrosion cracking (SCC) in harsh chloride environments, matching the properties of super-duplex materials like UNS S32750/S32760, common in offshore oil & gas, chemical, and petrochemical industries. These electrodes deposit a weld metal with a balanced austenite-ferrite microstructure, offering excellent corrosion resistance, high tensile strength, and good weldability.

Key Characteristics:

Type: Covered electrode (SMAW - Shielded Metal Arc Welding).
Composition: Deposits weld metal with roughly 25% Chromium, 9% Nickel, 4% Molybdenum, and controlled Nitrogen, achieving a high PREN (Pitting Resistance Equivalent Number) > 40.
Microstructure: Creates a balanced austenitic-ferritic (duplex) structure for strength and corrosion resistance.
Performance: Offers high tensile strength, excellent resistance to chloride SCC, pitting, and general corrosion, with good weld bead appearance and easy slag removal.
Applications: Ideal for welding super-duplex stainless steels (like 2507, Zeron 100) in demanding service, including marine environments, process piping, pumps, valves, and pressure vessels.
