About ER 2209

ER2209 is a duplex stainless steel filler metal (wire/rod) used for welding similar duplex grades (like 2205, 2304), offering high strength, excellent resistance to pitting and stress corrosion cracking, especially in chloride environments, and achieving a balanced austenite-ferrite microstructure in the weld. It contains about 22% Chromium, 5% Nickel, and 3% Molybdenum, making welds suitable for offshore, chemical, and petrochemical applications.
