About E NiCu 7
E NiCu7 is a basic-coated welding electrode for joining and surfacing nickel-copper (Monel) alloys, known for depositing low-iron, highly corrosion-resistant welds ideal for marine, chemical, and oil refining applications, offering excellent mechanical properties and machinability for dissimilar joints between Monel, steels, and copper alloys.
Key Characteristics & Specifications
- Type: Basic-coated electrode (SMAW) for Monel alloys (like Monel 400, K500) and dissimilar welding.
- Composition: Deposits weld metal with high nickel (approx. 65%) and copper (approx. 30%), low iron, and elements like manganese and titanium.
- Corrosion Resistance: Excellent resistance to seawater, salts, chlorinated solvents, and reducing acids.
- Mechanical Properties: Produces strong, ductile welds (e.g., 490-590 MPa UTS, 30-40% Elongation) that are easily machinable.
- Applications: Joining Monel to itself, Monel to steel, surfacing steel for corrosion protection, and for heat exchangers, pumps, valves, and chemical processing equipment.
- Operating Conditions: Suitable for a wide temperature range, from cryogenic (-196C) up to +450C, and works with both AC and DC current.

- AWS: A5.15 (Electrodes for Cast Iron, but this is for NiCu alloys).
- EN/ISO: S Ni 4060 (for wire ERNiCu-7).
