About ER NiCrMo3
ERNiCrMo-3 (Alloy 625) is a high-performance nickel-chromium-molybdenum welding filler metal known for exceptional corrosion, oxidation, pitting, and crevice resistance, used in extreme environments like aerospace, chemical processing, and marine applications, offering high strength from cryogenic to high temperatures. It's suitable for welding dissimilar metals and is available as MIG/TIG wire for gas tungsten arc (GTAW) and gas metal arc (GMAW) welding.
Key Characteristics
- Composition: Primarily Nickel (Ni), Chromium (Cr), Molybdenum (Mo), and Niobium (Nb).
- Corrosion Resistance: Excellent resistance to a wide range of corrosive media, especially in chloride environments, preventing pitting and crevice corrosion.
- Temperature Range: Functions effectively from cryogenic temperatures up to 1,800F (about 980C).
- Mechanical Strength: Offers high tensile strength and good fatigue resistance.
- Versatility: Used for welding Inconel 625 to itself, to steels, stainless steels, and other nickel alloys.
