About ER NiCu7

ERNiCu-7 refers to a specific nickel-copper alloy welding filler metal (wire or electrode), designated by the American Welding Society (AWS), used for joining Monel alloys (like Monel 400) and for overlaying steel, offering excellent corrosion resistance in marine and chemical environments due to its high nickel-copper content (approx. 65% Ni, 30% Cu). It provides strong, ductile welds and good resistance to seawater, acids, and salts, making it vital for industries like oil & gas, chemical processing, and marine engineering, often used with TIG/GTAW or MIG/GMAW processes.

Key Characteristics

Composition:

Primarily Nickel (Ni) and Copper (Cu), with trace elements like Iron (Fe) and Manganese (Mn).

Applications:

Welding Monel 400/404, dissimilar metals (steel to nickel-copper), and cladding/overlaying steel.

Corrosion Resistance:

Excellent against seawater, chlorinated solvents, sulfuric acid, and general marine conditions.
